Hey guys, I hope everyone is jolly and happy:)
Unfortunately I couldn't find a developer for my horror game project Year Of The ladybug and I am happily moving on with
my life. I gave myself one year for the project and that ends next week so I wanted closure before I could finally say I'm
done. It has been the most amazing twelve months of my life as an artist and I am truly proud of what I have accomplished.
Thank you so much for your love and support for the project but let this be lesson for you, trying to pitch an idea to developers
is close to impossible. Even with the articles and thousands of love letters from the fan, having a 2d pitch was simply not good
enough to convince a developer to drop everything and start my game (yeah...right) Granted I knew that from the start but you
have to understand that I had to give it a try so I don't regret not doing it. And I hate regrets. Now I get to say I did it and I know!

You know this whole Year Of The Ladybug happened outside of my day job right? I will continue designing cool games at work and
will never stop drawing and painting. I am a lot more active on Instagram these days so if you are interested in my life and work,…

Thanks guys, always!

You really did a great job, a lot of people were really looking forward to it, intrigued by the artwork and the "new" Ideas there were.
The concept itself combined with the, curiously not "dark" (in sense of brightness), but incredibly unsettling pictures.
Fear the way how you want the viewers/players to feel it.
Creeping up, everything looks familiar but completely off.

You hit a real sweet spot in the uncanny valley. Like in this picture
And I was really appreciating that:
Because too many horror games right now give you the same feeling that long-series-shooters give you.
Kinda... you know what's gonna happen, how things look. The same 3D-running-away-from-monsters thing.
There are sure some good ones out there, and there is an audience who appreciates them.
But year of the ladybug would have been rather intriguing to play.

So even if I respect your decision, and it makes absolute sense that you have to move on and work on other things,
It'd be a waste to just completely throw it out of your head.
I like the idea that, someday, when I hit my 50ties and I look back, someone picked up that child
and I can be playing it, nearly dying of a heart attack XD

But instead of only dwelling on past hype, I want to wish you all the creativity, fun and enthusiasm for what you'll be doing!

What a pity :( So no more Year of the Ladybug artwork?

...It's strange that somehow I had the feeling that YOTL project might be cancelled or would have some trouble or something; and now I'm kind freaked out. :o (Eek) did your best though. I still love those awesome concept arts.
Guess that the World won't easily give freedom for artists to make their dreams come true. Hopefully someday someone can make games like this. I wish your luck for other industry.

A shame to hear, truly. But even yet, I'm happy and glad to have seen all that you've done for it!
Wish the best for the future, and for another twelve months of great art and new projects alike :)

Aww. That is tragic news. Hopefully it's for the best, buddy.

You did try your best. It looked like a great game and I was gaining more courage to play horror games for this game.
